Businesses can achieve big gains in productivity and lower fixed costs by changing the ways in which they use energy.  Many businesses don’t know how inefficient they are now, or what they can do to become more efficient.

We are surveying and interviewing businesses across New Zealand to see how small and medium sized businesses manage their energy use, and to gather some inspiring stories about changes that some of them have made.

Some of our research is looking at the data already held in New Zealand agencies  relating to businesses and their energy use, to reveal trends and identify where there are good opportunities for greater efficiencies.

Transport can be a major cost for businesses – for some of them it might be freight, and for others it might be the cost of visiting customers.  We are looking into new transport options that are on the horizon for businesses, and also at entrepreneurial opportunities for bringing new forms of transport into NZ market.
